Located in picturesque Waihi, Karaka Pines is a premium lifestyle retirement village that once completed, will consist of 96 stylish and modern homes.

RZG Construction was engaged by Karaka Pines Village to deliver earthworks, retaining, services, three waters, kerbing, footpaths and pavements for the development of 40 homes in the village.

We delivered over 40,000m3 of earthworks for this multi-disciplinary project, while navigating complexities such as challenging ground conditions, proximity to residential areas, and strict regulations relating to noise and hours of work.

The client required a retaining wall that would perform in the ground conditions, while looking aesthetically pleasing. We designed and delivered a solution that met the brief – a striking 3m Mangum Stone retaining wall.

With a stream running through the village, RZG C0nstruction implemented an extensive environmental management plan – made even more challenging as the seasons changed and the rain commenced.

Throughout the project, we supported the client to achieve their vision, and remained flexible and agile to find innovative solutions to problems.

This project demonstrated our ability to complete a diverse range of works, within budget and on time, while working closely with our client to help them bring their vision to life.
